  • One-year Post-graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun.
  • PhD University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, with Geophysics and Remote Sensing.
  • Worked in Geological Survey of India, in different terrains, sedimentary basins, Deccan volcanic and associatedsedimentary sequences of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya and Andhra Pradesh; Rift and Grabens of Peninsular India,Volcanism and development of hydrocarbon pools and Exploration in sub-basalt regions.Superannuated as Additional Director General after over Thirty-six years of service.
  • On leave of absence worked as Canadian Government Laboratory Visiting Fellow,covered entireWestern Sedimentary Basin of Canada, on Basement Tectonics and Development of Devonian and Mississippian hydrocarbon pools, in collaborative project with Institute for Sedimentary and Petroleum Geology, Calgary and Geological Survey of Canada, Ottawa.
  • As Consultant, worked in the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, interpreted seismic profiles, magnetic, gravity data sets and integrated with the drill hole logs.
  • Joined, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies as Professor and later as Distinguished Professor to teach Hydrocarbon Exploration, mentored hundreds of students in B Tech and M tech courses and guided seven Ph D students.
  • Published over Fifty research papers in international journals such as Tectonophysics, Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing, AAPG, Geophysics, Acta Geologica Seneca and Episodes. Written a GSI publication on Deccan Volcanism and contributed a chapter in Sedimentary Basins, Nova Publishers, New York.
  • Reviewer of several significant journals, to name a few, Precambrian Research, Episodes, Water and Environment, Journal of the Geological Society of India and Indian Journal of Remote Sensing.
  • Received Canadian Government Laboratory Visiting Fellowship for two and half years to work in Canadian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Resources, Dr B. P. Radhakrishna prize for publication of best research paper in the Journal of Geological Society of India and Best Outstanding Paper by the Association of Exploration Geophysicists.
  • Presently working as Executive Director of Natural Resources Exploration and Management Company (NUREMCO) and involved in all aspects of hydrocarbon explorationand training.
