Dear APG Members,
APG India was established by industry stalwarts who foresaw tremendous merit in creating a platform on which geoscientists representing industry and academia could converge to symbiotically enrich the field of hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation. It is a humbling experience for me to have been selected to hold the office of president of such anaugust body and carry forward the mandate for which APG was made. However, meeting the aspirations of its members and industry is an onerous task which needs collective efforts. The relevance of APG has increased with recent policy changes that have been brought about by our government. Since the focus is on to provide knowledgeable and industry-ready human resource which is ready to face the challenges that the industry faces, APG feels potent to be a catalyst in these efforts. Our efforts would be to motivate young generation for taking up career in earth science and further strengthen the existing platform for academic deliberations. Holding field based workshops for better understanding of geology, invited thematic lectures and cross industry linkages for knowledge sharing would be the spheres where I would like to focus.
I am privileged to have dynamic and knowledgeable members in the executive body and this makes me confident that our tenure would be a memorable one and we would be able to deliver what is expected through collective, cohesive, planned and focused efforts.
Shri M. Ayyadurai
